Wind turbine modelling, load calculations and control
Course data: November the 28th and 29th, December the 12th en 13th
This course teaches how to perform load simulations and how to tune the wind turbine control system, both for wind turbine certification. In the first two days you will learn how to make a wind turbine model, tune a basic wind turbine controller and perform load calculations such that the turbine can be certified. The two following days you will learn to apply and tune advanced wind turbine control systems. After the wind turbine control systems are tuned ‘optimally’ the mechanical design is revisited, showing how you can reduce the costs of the wind turbine you designed at this course, using the advanced wind turbine controllers.
