Blackfin BF707 Vision Processing workshop
During June 2016 we will be once again be paying some extra attention to the vision processing capabilities of the Blackfin 16/32-bit embedded processors of Analog Devices, specifically the newest device: the BF707.
Blackfin Processors represent a new breed of embedded processors that have been specially developed for high processing performance in combination with low power consumption, features that are demanded by today’s audio, video and communications applications.
In short: a DSP with the possibilities of a microcontroller, in other words: the processing capabilities of a DSP and the peripheral flexibility of a microcontroller.
Some peripherals include: Flash Memory, 12b ADC’s, Ethernet, IEEE-1588, CAN, High Speed USB-OTG, UART’s, I/O, 32-bit Timers, I2C, PPI (glueless LCD or CMOS sensor interface), NAND interface, IDE interface, Code Security features, etc. But most importantly in this case: advanced vision processing
What are the advantages for you?
– A low cost DSP with high processing performance (400 to 2000MIPS)
– Intuitive programming in C and assembly.
– On-chip debugging.
– Contains a highly integrated peripheral set.
During this workshop you will not only become acquainted with the Blackfin family and it’s technical capabilities, but you will also be given a chance to discover the ease of use of the CCES toolchain (CrossCore Embedded Studio) (Analog Device’s dedicated toolchain for all her DSP devices) during a hands-on training in combination with a Blackfin evaluation board (BLIP2 – Blackfin Low power Imaging Platform).
As an extra bonus Silica together with Analog Devices will offer this evaluation board including external JTAG debugger and integrated CMOS vision sensor at a greatly reduced price.

Subjects that will be dealt with during the day will be: Core architecture, Peripheral architecture, Roadmap, Tools, Operating Systems, Example Code, Reference Designs and much more !
Participants will profit from practical labs on the BLIP2 board to configure, implement and analyze the performance of selected vision processing applications.
There will be ample time to ask questions and discuss applications during the day.
There is no cost to you for this day, and you will be issued with a discount voucher for selected tools, including the BLIP2 board.
